Between a Rock and a Hard Life - Daniel Bernoulli (CB)

After I read history of Isaac Newton and Daniel Bernoulli, I can tell that back then are a lot of competition to be the first person who discovered something that other people never know before. But I was very shock to see the competition within family, between father and son, to be the best mathematician. His father wasn't happy to see his son, Daniel Bernoulli, won first place of French Academy competition along with him. I think he should be happy instead that his son was walking on the same path as him and able to use the knowledge that he taught. Bernoulli recognized and showed respect to his father by write his father's name on the book that he published "Daniel Bernoulli, Son of Johann". However, later on in Bernoulli's life, his father took his idea and credit about "Hydrodynamics" that he worked for many years. This means that his father never recognize Bernoulli in the first place. It is sad to see this competition between Bernoulli and his father, Johann. If there were able to unite together and work on characteristic of fluid, I'm sure they will discover more new ideas back then.
