Everyone knows about Newton, and how the apple fell on his head, and how that was the reason he “discovered” gravity. And everyone knows about “Newton’s Laws.” But little does everyone know how much they affect us on a day by day basis. Based on what I’ve learned, gravity is the weakest force in the Universe, but also the strongest. How? Well on Earth gravity is very weak, hence the reason we’re able to pick things up off the ground. But near a black hole, the gravity is so immense; it tears a hole in the space-time continuum scientists think. And to think all this was discovered form Newton’s Universal Law of Gravity is insane. What people often overlook with Newton is also that he was very religious, and adamant. To many people, religion is just a source of explanation of things which cannot be explained by science. To Newton, I believe, science and religion were two intertwined things that coexisted in the Universe. Newton had been sent away from home because of family issues. And whether this might be the best thing that has happened to him. Because this allowed him, not only to concentrate on studies and ignore family matters, but later, resolve those matters with his mother and take care of her. On top of all this, his works were not published because he feared religious attacks on him. But to think where the world would be 400 years later if he had not written down his work is unimaginable. There might not have been another great mind of the 17th or 18th century who could have conjured all of this, from a bump on the head with an apple.
