An Unprofitable Experience - Rudolf Clausius (CB)

Rudolf Clausius helped us know how to convert thermal energy into other energy that is useful for us. Just like other scientists, he used the knowledge and observation that other people have to come up with new ideas that other people didn’t even notice. Based on the Law of energy conservation, “the total energy remains constants, even if it changes from one energy to another”. This makes Clausius realized that the amount of energy that put into the mechanical will be the same amount of energy or work that is coming out. This simple statement helps us understand how the energy work and how to use them, for example: even as we are speaking, we burn coal in order to produce steam. After that the steam will basically act on the motor generator, which produce the electricity. The energy that used to produce heat will be equal to the energy that we have as electricity. If we don't know this "simple" fact, we might have hard time to produce different kind of energy that we used.
