Rudolf Clausius

After losing his mother, almost immediately after birth, Clausius grew up deprived of a mother’s nurturing and warmth. How depressing must that have felt? I just cannot imagine life without a mother. But Clausius managed to get past that and worked his way up as another great mind of his time. James Joule and William Thomson, both scientists from whom Clausius derived his theory from, attempted to take credit for his work. Of course, there always has to be someone trying to steal credit for someone else’s work in every time period. Greed will only imprison us all, and jealousy will drive us to the edge of insanity. His Second Law was hailed supreme at that time and still is. What made Clausius, Clausius, was the fact that he was so humble and religious, not egotistical after discovering his second law. His relationship between electricity and magnetism was unheard of at that time, and helped create and discover countless things, even up to today. What made me give him more respect was the fact that he had lost his mother and the love of his life, and still managed to continue with his discoveries and contributed to the world so much.
